What's a Nook Without Some Books?

Not a huge update here for you guys, but a ton of work for me, and it was just the start.... I whole bunch of books later, and here is what we have to share so far:

I am planning on having board games in here, too.  Along with some boxed sets of books and such.  To show the fullness, I would like to track down some really great bookends, but for now, I think Ollie the Elephant will be staying-minus my lost strand of hair!

The pillows on the seat are just place holders, but I intend for it to be this full.  I would like to have a blanket there, too, and I just realized that it is necessary to have somewhere to sit the cup of tea or glass of wine that you are inevitably drinking while reading.  :)

Part of the issue when I build things, is that I tend to get ahead of myself.  Perfect example, some lighting IN the nook would be good.... but I have already put it in place.....that should be fun interesting.

Anyone have ideas for the small triangle space that was created?

Still have a ton more books to make, plus even more shelving on the other wall with even MORE books!  If you come to visit me, and can't find me, look in this room.  I have probably had myself shrunk and am off visiting far off places, while never actually leaving the nook.  :)  **All of the books are handmade by me, except for the book on Spain.  That was a win/gift from minismodernas.

  2. LOVE this! For the triangle portion, I would probably just put more books in there and lay them on their sides. Kind of like this real-life nook (4th image down): http://marianvere.blogspot.com/2012/01/ode-to-book-nook.html. I like yours much better :)

  3. That is a lot of work! I'm giving myself a similar very tedious job as well.

Speaking of wine, maybe the triangle can be a little wine cubby?

  7. I love it. It looks so cozy.

That triangle section would be a convenient place to store a blanket. Just sayin. :)

  8. I say what everyone above me says "love it" ;P

I think a nice spider type plant for the triangle space dangling down along the beam.

I have plants all over my bookcases tho so I might be a little onesided ;P

  9. I was thinking like Christina - a bottle of wine tucked in there. But the blanket would be cool also!

  10. I love this! I think your book nook is probably more complex or involved than my entire plan for undersized urbanite LOL. I would love to have that room in 1:1 scale. and hang out there reading for hours. So more books, wine while reading or a blankie for snuggling with a book all sound great to me!

  14. This is great! I want to live here please. That little reading nook looks so inviting already. As for the triangle - it could hold a little blanket perhaps, or yes, a bottle of wine, or maybe even a couple of magazines rolled up?
